You could do the 299, the 500 is for people that already have a report, but they want them to add references. If you have not worked with companies before its not worth it for you.
You can get a duns number free, just tell them you don't want then to determine the credit, you need it just to do business and get your ccr or central credit registration. They will have to give you the number free and leave you alone.
Change your cell phones to business plan and they will start reporting on your tax id number, if its not Verizon.
Get a line of credit with Dell, CDW or Pitneybowes.
I live Pitney Bowes, they report 3 times on your report and give you more references.
