Have you looked into using their money market account, and/or getting the debit card?

The debit card pays cash back on all purchases (I thinkit's 1.9%...?). I pretty much never transfer funds out of my account. Instead, I just use the debit card like a check card to pay a lot of my bills, buy gas and groceries, etc.

The cash back is enough to partially reimburse what I pay in fees. If you can afford to keep a balance in your account, dividends from the money market fund should pay most of the rest.

In the end, I consider the fees pretty tolerable, since an actual merchant account would cost far more in fees, and is probably unattainable for me between my status as a freelancer and my less-than-stellar credit!
