Any investment advice from banks/CU’s??

Hello everyone, I have a friend of mine who is interested in making some investment in real estate or any other if there is a better option. He has been consulting banks and some estate agents in the month; I wonder how many of you people talk to a bank or a credit union on your investment needs and are they better than the agents outside???
