Somethings are good to buy there. But buyer beware, not all are good deals. Some are the same price as going to your local grocery. The few times that I have been in the past I always spend more money than I intended. So not really a good thing for me.

I really think it comes down to the individual shopper. If you can make the store work for you - great! But if you end up buying more than you can use/afford/wanted, then it is just another lesson in futility, and you won't have to go to a big box store to experience it!

Right. My mother shops there on occasion, but for her business. So it IS cheaper for her than a regular store.

I find that fresh dairy products are not a good price at Sam's Club. So, I don't buy milk there. Milk is generally considered a loss leader at the regular grocery stores so you find it for the best price at those places.

I used to be a member of Sams a few years back but never renewed the membership. I did enjoy it though. Especially their seafood and frozen items.

I think it is very easy to spend too much on things you don't need at these clubs. I am not a member, but I went with a friend the other day and more than once, I was almost seduced by the price of the amount I could purchase. I had to keep reminding myself that I don't have a use for the quantity they are selling. If you have a large family I imagine clubs can be a great way to save money.

If you have a large family i think warehouse clubs are a great idea! But if there's just two of you i can't see that you'd save enough $$ each year to justify the membership fee.
