Closing tomorrow!

We're closing on our new house tomorrow! I'm very excited! This whole process has been so tiring and confusing. I'm so glad to get it over with.

Congratulations! It will be SUCH a relief when the last paper is signed and you get the keys. Such a sweet feeling!

Congrats!

I don't envy the stress of the closing, but the relief following it is awesome.

Something I've learned is to check the date your first payment is due and make sure you have your payment coupons in time to make that payment. My current mortgage company did not get me the coupons until AFTER the first payment was due and I had to make a payment by phone. I made them waive the convenience fee.

That happened to me too, tiarain.

In fact, they never sent me the payment coupons at all. It was a house I bought on a 6 month balloon loan because it was a rehab and we were going to sell within that time. I never got a single coupon and every month I had to dig back through the closing paperwork to get the address and other payment info. It was a total pain!

Congrats, there is nothing like closing on your first house. Just wait for the home improvements. That is the first thing my husband and I did was work on improving it. Unfortuately that took a back seat after we had our daughter. We are trying to start again. Maybe in the spring.

I know all about payment coupons. With the first vehicle that I bought, I never got a payment book or any kind of statement the entire time! I called them and requested one, and even requested it it writing twice, and never got one!
